Meet Akea Williams
Akea Pearson Williams is a licensed therapist and the founder of Akea's Heart Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth. She is also the CEO of Calm On Purpose, a company that focuses on self-care books and products. Akea is a mother, author, speaker, survivor, advocate, trauma therapist, and the proud owner of a Melanated therapy group practice located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, Akea's Heart & Counseling.
Akea earned her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College in 2019 and became a licensed Professional Counselor in 2021. With over ten years of experience in the mental health and human service field, Akea has worked with various populations. However, her true passion lies in working with youth and young adults who have experienced domestic violence and trauma.
Akea's approach to therapy is rooted in helping individuals realize that their past experiences do not define them. She believes in empowering her clients to develop a more positive outlook on life by encouraging them to change their mindset. Akea often reminds her clients that their trauma is what happened to them, not who they are.
Through her work with Akea's Heart Inc. and Calm On Purpose, Akea strives to make a lasting impact on the lives of others. She is dedicated to helping youth overcome challenges, make better decisions, and create a brighter future for themselves.
