You are believed
Your experience is the starting point — never questioned, never minimized. Trust is built by being taken seriously first.
The heart behind Akea’s Heart
Before there was a practice, there was a person — someone who believed that every story deserves a witness, and that healing begins the moment you feel truly heard.
The logo is an elephant folded gently into the shape of a heart — and that was never an accident. Elephants are known for two things: they remember, and they never leave one of their own behind. That is the promise Akea built this practice around.
Akea Williams founded Akea’s Heart Counseling Services because too many people had learned to carry their pain quietly, convinced that being strong meant being silent. She wanted to create the opposite of that — a room where the weight could finally be set down, and where being seen didn’t cost you your dignity.
What began as one counselor’s calling has grown into a practice and a nonprofit, Akea’s Heart Inc., extending that same care to individuals, families, and whole communities who are too often overlooked.
“Healing doesn’t start with advice. It starts the moment someone believes your story is worth listening to.”
Akea Williams, LPC · Founder
Every detail — the light, the quiet, the pace of a session — is chosen so your nervous system can finally exhale. Comfort here isn’t decoration. It’s part of the care.
The beginning
Long before the credentials, Akea was the person friends and family came to — the one who could sit with a hard truth without flinching. That instinct to hold space became a purpose.
The training
She pursued formal training and licensure, grounding her natural empathy in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice — so compassion and skill could work together.
The practice
With more than six years of experience, she built a practice rooted in cultural humility and affirming care — a safe place for individuals, couples, and families to be heard.
The mission today
Believing healing shouldn’t depend on your zip code or your income, she founded a nonprofit to bring mental-health support to communities that need it most.
These aren’t words on a wall. They’re the quiet rules that shape every conversation here.
Your experience is the starting point — never questioned, never minimized. Trust is built by being taken seriously first.
Culturally sensitive and affirming care means your identity, background, and story are honored, not tolerated. Everyone belongs here.
Warmth matters, and so do real tools. You walk away with practical, lasting ways to carry yourself forward.
I know how much courage it takes just to read a page like this. Maybe you’ve been carrying something for a long time. Maybe you’re here for someone you love. Either way, I’m really glad you found your way here.
I started Akea’s Heart because I believe healing should feel human — warm, honest, and free of shame. You won’t be rushed. You won’t be judged. And you won’t have to have the right words to begin. We’ll find them together.
Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to face it alone anymore. When you’re ready — today, next week, whenever — there’s a seat here with your name on it.
No pressure, no obligation — just a first step, at your pace. Reach out and let’s talk about what support could look like for you.
